Travel Europe: Summer 2016

There’s no better time to explore Europe than the Summer school holidays. The best thing about Europe is that everything is so close together, meaning you can explore multiple countries within a few days. Check out my snapshot of the best places to go this Summer.

Italy is an amazing place to visit for so many reasons. On top of incredible food, cities such as Rome, Milan, Florence and Venice are truly spectacular spots to spend sunny Summer days. From Florence, make a road trip to Milan, then over to Bologna and eventually Venice.

Budapest in Hungary is a beautiful place to visit in the warmer Summer months. It’s one of the cheapest capital cities in Europe so if you’re on a budget, it’s the perfect place to spend a few days without flashing the cash. Budapest is only a 2 hour journey from Paris so stop by the city of love on the way to tick another European city off your bucket list.

If you’re fed up of the unpredictable English Summer, head to Greece for some guaranteed sun. I recommend Greek island hopping so that you can pack as many different places into your trip as possible. Some of the best islands to visit include Santorini, Corfu, Mykonos and Rhodes. Whilst your there, explore the old towns, shop the cute markets and indulge in some delicious Greek food!

Berlin in Germany is a city not to be missed. The hot summer’s attract heaps of tourists every year and there’s a reason for it! The city is packed with beautiful architecture and the night life is also a huge hit with the younger crowd. I recommend visiting the Berlin Wall and Brandenburg Castle.

London, England

If you want to explore somewhere closer to home, visit London for the weekend and explore everything that the big smoke has to offer this summer. There is so much to do and so many sights to see that will keep everyone entertained no matter what your interests. Enjoy a cider in the sun on one of London’s best rooftops, indulge in strawberries and cream at Wimbledon, laze in the park or party canal side in East London.
